It’s one of the hottest fundraising events in Montreal; Les Printemps du MAC have built a reputation on red carpet glamor and an elegant stylishly dressed crowd. About 1,000 people attend and this years’ 11th edition “Jungala” had its own unique twist on April 21st, 2017. Jungala is described as a mystical place where pristine nature and immersive technology collide. “Welcome to the Jungle” was even their tagline for the night. There is something about a jungle theme that is exotic and exciting. A themed photo booth was a great addition to the fun.
It was incredible to see people dressed up in theme with bright colors and sometimes floral prints. You get the sense that the attendees have a creative and artistic approach to the night. No surprise since the event raises funds for the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC). Every year, the theme is a critical element to the experience which is chosen by the volunteer committee that hosts it. It’s a great way to re-define the soirée on an annual basis and keeps their guests entertained year after year.
Many restaurant sponsors were present this year which included Sousbois, Maggie Oaks, Flyjin, Speakeasy, Restaurant du MAC, Beaux Gateaux, DoughNats, Duc de Loraine and Mechant Boeuf. With all this variety, you did not go hungry during the evening! From dumplings, mini burgers, tacos, and some sweet stuff too – there was something for everyone.
Another neat element was the quality DJs of the evening. They set the stage for some great music and got the people dancing early on. If you didn’t feel like busting out your moves in your Louboutins stilettos – there was a silent auction with a wide array of desired items. Paintings from different artists including Stikki Peaches, sunglasses from Luneterie Général and Boolook, restaurant gift certificates from trendy places, sporting event tickets, Michael Kors handbags,…the list went on.
We were asked to “delve into a spirited jungle where all is permitted and observe the enchanting power of Jangala!” – We did, and it was fabulous. You can check out their Facebook page for more pictures and information here. See you next year Printemps du MAC! #PrintempsMAC #JungalaMAC
