If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, we have a treat for you. The Lyric Theatre Singers are presenting their 28th musical theatre revue, Journey to Broadway, at the DB Clarke Theatre only on the 14, 15 and 16 of June.
The show is directed by Bob Bachelor and Cathy Burns with co-musical director Chris Barillaro. It was a high-quality production which made us feel like we were on a night out to a Broadway show in New York City.
The singers had amazing voices and harmonies as much in the solos as the group acts both in the English and French performances. Not only was the music live on stage but we had the chance to experience some awe-inspiring a cappella numbers.
For the musical theatre connoisseurs, the song selection included classics such as “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid, “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago and “Journey to the Past” from Anastasia. The first act was lovely and the second act packed a punch! The performers constantly gave us high energy, humor, wit and the music ranged from ballads to uplifting numbers.
This show is highly recommended for fans of musical theatre, Broadway, a cappella and music in general or for anyone looking for a lovely evening! The first night was a full house so to secure some tickets you can visit their website here!
