Pablo Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist, the problem is how to stay an artist once we grow up.” Sure, we all have a memory of using a box of Crayola’s back in the day but when was the last time you tried to paint something? Paint Nite events have now proven to be an international success and luckily, no matter where you are in Montreal – there is an event taking place near you! Don’t lose sight of your artistic side and indulge in this fun outlet.
In essence, it is an evening held at a restaurant/bar, where an art teacher hosts a group of participants in a step-by-step process to create a personalized painting (all experience levels are welcome). You can eat and drink during the activity. The hosts are fantastic and keep it fun and easy. They supply everything from the paint, brushes, and canvas. It lasts about two hours, and the best part is that you get to keep your work of art! Paint Night is a fun and light activity to share with friends, family or a fun date. It changes the pace of more traditional activities.
Don’t worry you don’t need to be Pablo Picasso to enjoy the event. You will be surprised just how exciting it is to let your creative self-shine bright! When you choose what event/venue you want to attend, you will also be choosing what imagery you will paint. There are many different options that will surely please you. Take note, you are by no means obliged but rather encouraged to put your own twist on the painting. It is a liberating feeling to have a blank canvas in front of you and to know that you are the creator.
These events all across the Greater Montreal including Downtown, Laval, South Shore, and West Island. The event costs $45 per person, including all materials and the painting that you take you home. Groupon sometimes has special offers – so keep your eyes open for those! For more information and to browse all upcoming events click here.
Don’t be shy and find the inner artist in you!
